The ForeverWell Coordinator assists in the daily direction of ForeverWell programing with a focus on engaging members into Y programs. The incumbent assists the Program Manager of Group Exercise in meeting established branch quality and participation goals.

Essential Functions:

  • Assists in the daily direction of ForeverWell programing.

  • Ensures the delivery of programing and services meets quality standards.

  • Ensures a high level of customer service which enhances the member, guest and program participant experience and satisfaction.

  • Provides work direction to instructors when appropriate.

  • Assists in the implementation of programs, assess staff technical abilities to achieve desired goals and objectives within the department.

This position reports to the Program Manager who reports to the Healthy Living Director. The incumbent works with branch and Association Healthy Living product teams and other Association team members.



  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in programs for older adults

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Good organizational skills

  • Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel

  • Ability to obtain CPR/PR, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications (within 30 days of hire)

  • Ability to obtain a National Group Exercise Certification within 90 days of hire

  • Attend YMCA Healthy Lifestyles within 90 days of hire

  • Ability to manage and deliver programs to a diverse population


  • Degree in Health and Science or related field

  • National Fitness Certification in Group Fitness

Work Conditions:

  • Perform all physical aspects of the position, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds

  • Must be able to remain alert with no lapses of consciousness in a warm environment with air temperatures of 80 degrees or higher if teaching in the aquatics area.

  • Ability to calmly and effectively react in an emergency situation.

  • Ability to travel locally to visit branch sites, attend meetings and training.

Education or Skills: * Heavy to Very Heavy. Heavy lifting necessary for client care. Nursing care provided in individual client homes. Must be adaptable to a variety of environments and community settings. Must be able to drive or use public transportation in all types of weather. Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work. Position Requirements: * <li>Currently licensed as an RN or LPN in the state of Minnesota. The license must not have been revoked, suspended, and without limitations or restrictions. * Have at least two (2) years' experience in a health care setting. * Acute hospital or home care experience preferred. * Demonstrates ability to make appropriate nursing judgments. * Possess good interpersonal communication and teaching skills. * Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Proof of negative mantoux or documentation of negative chest x-ray. * Current CPR certification highly recommended. * Access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation in order to travel to multiple company business stops a day. * A valid driver's license and proof of car insurance when using a personal vehicle for company business. * Have U.S. Citizenship or evidence of valid Alien Work Permit. * Discloses any conviction and criminal history records pertaining to any crime related to the provision of health services. A candidate who has been convicted of such crimes will not be hired. * Pass initial and ongoing background studies and screenings including but not limited to those of the Minnesota Department of Health and the Federal Office of the Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals and Entities.
