Job Summary

The Coordinator of Student Involvement is an essential part of the Student Life & Engagement team. The coordinator is responsible for cultivating a thriving campus life experience through social and academic programming. The coordinator advises and directs the Jaguar Production Crew to plan, promote, and execute innovative programming. The coordinator will also ensure appropriate assessment and data is collected. Within their area of responsibility, the coordinator exercises discretion and independent judgement in regard to program offerings, expenses, assessment, and the overall execution of their function.

Student Life and Engagement is a cross-functional collaborative team that is focused upon creating a thriving campus life for the students at Augusta University. The Coordinator of Student Involvement will be expected to cultivate student learning, engagement, and success in a collaborative, fast paced environment while providing area level expertise to the entire community.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include; but are not limited to:

Create and promote a culture of engagement and retention of students through campus programming:

  • Exercise independent decision making in regards to risk management and large scale event programming.

  • Train, manage, and empower student leaders to engage their peers in ways that support the mission and retention of students at Augusta University.

  • Advisor to CREW executive board, union board and associate members.

  • Assess the learning of the CREW student leaders using goal setting and learning outcomes.

  • Attend weekly and monthly meetings held by the CREW.

  • Advise on the creation of each semesters programming schedule.

  • Collaborate with various departments and units within the university to ensure resources are shared.

  • Collaborate with all academic departments to ensure learning is connected to academic learning outcomes when applicable.

  • Assist with the development of all marketing materials for CREW.

  • Coordinate facility availability for CREW events.

  • Assist with the communication between faculty, staff, and students campus-wide

  • Advise and oversee student programmers on planning, implementing, and overseeing the events planned.

  • Assist with the coordination of travel to applicable conferences.

  • Supervise any Graduate Assistants assigned to Jaguar Production Crew.

Budget & Administrative Duties:

  • Oversee the creation, expensing, and evaluation of the Jaguar Production Crew budget ($150,000+).

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of services offered by vendors (searching, ordering, contracts,

  • negotiation, inspection of services rendered, continuous communication, and payment)

  • Use discretion and independent judgement when making financial decisions.

  • Make campus space reservations in a timely manner.

Assessment and data informed decisions:

  • Create, adapt, and execute regular program assessments for continuous improvement

  • Use institutional resources to keep record of and analyze student involvement trends

  • Make budgetary decisions to support the growth of civic and community engagement

  • Collect and analyze formative and summative assessment data to support data-informed decision making.

  • Participate and assist with other functions of the Department of Student Life & Engagement

  • Perform all other job-related duties/tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university and one to three years of experience in higher education.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree preferred. Must be willing to become a member of NACA.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Excellent Interpersonal, organizational, customer service, written and verbal communication skills. Qualified applicants should also possess a positive & outgoing personality, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Detail-oriented. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)

Pay Grade: 14

Salary: $36,197 - $38,197

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Augusta University.

Motor vehicle reports are required for positions that are required to drive an Augusta University vehicle.

For Faculty Hires: Final candidates will be required to provide proof of completed academic degree(s) as well as post-secondary coursework in the form of original transcript(s). Those candidates trained by a foreign institution will also be required to provide an educational/credential evaluation.

Credit Check
