Description

Keuka College is currently seeking a Coordinator for our Inclusion & Belonging department. The Coordinator will play an integral role in providing support and advocacy to students of color, students in the LGBTQ+ community, international students, students of all religious, secular, and spiritual identities, as well as veteran and commuter students. The coordinator will facilitate programs and training (e.g., cultural competencies, social justice concepts, LGBTQ+ issues, international concerns), support student organizations, and supervise undergraduate and graduate student staff in collaboration with colleagues from offices across the College.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of Inclusion & Belonging programs that includes programs, training, operations of The H.U.B., the Food Pantry, and the Meditation Room.

  • Select, supervise, train, further develop, and evaluate student staff through selection process, weekly staff meetings, bi-weekly individual meetings, bi-annual training, in-service, and provide additional development opportunities.

  • Assist the Director of Inclusion & Belonging in strategic planning efforts for programming and training development (e.g., cultural competencies, social justice concepts, LGBTQ+ issues, international concerns) that includes assessment measures and evaluations.

  • Serve as a resource to students by providing support and connecting students to support services in areas of intrapersonal conflicts, personal health and wellness, and academic success, including follow- up to ensure satisfactory resolution.

  • Support the creation of clubs/organizations related to diversity, equity, and inclusion by connecting them with appropriate Student Senate leadership and serving in role of advisor, if needed.

  • Incorporate Keuka College policies and procedures into all event planning, considering calendar and room reservations, contracts, budgets, facilities maintenance, and campus safety.

  • Participate in campus, divisional, and departmental meetings, committees, training, development, and mandatory group activities.

  • Function as a mandated reporter for incidents relating to sexual and interpersonal misconduct, mental health, and substance abuse.

  • Serve as a member of Kacey Squad.

  • Ensure assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Some evening and weekend hours are required.

  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel Administration, or related field preferred.

  • Two years' experience in intercultural, multicultural affairs, diversity initiatives, and Student Affairs/Development preferred.

  • Experience and desire to work with college-age students.

  • Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.

  • Possess strong organizational skills, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills required. Ability to work well with a wide variety of work styles and diverse populations. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Must be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff, campus partners, and the public.

  • Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with a diverse group of people.
