OVERVIEW:

This individual serves Stanford's Department of Athletics and Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER) as the Coordinator for Football Operations and is responsible for assisting with administrative and planning duties for the football program, working directly for the Senior Associate Athletics Director of Football Operations and with the football staff and coaches. This position helps ensure that the football program operates in full compliance with the university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. This is a 1 year fixed-term position with the option for renewal.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Associate AD for Football Operations to manage all aspects of team travel, community outreach, external relations, and compliance with NCAA regulations.

  • Work with the Senior Associate AD for Football Operations on alumni relations and outreach and student-athlete development.

  • Assist in planning and organizing special events including but not limited to team banquets, pro timing days, agent days, alumni gatherings, and team/staff functions.

  • Serve as the primary coordinator for Stanford Football Summer Camps.

  • Ensure the planning, coordinating and smooth operation of pre-season training camps (housing, meals, training camp schedule, etc.).

  • Primary coordinator of first-year player programming (including mid-year enrollees, transfers, and incoming freshmen).

  • Work with coaching staff and football operations staff on yearly, weekly, and daily schedules.

  • Assist the recruiting department with organizing on-campus recruiting visits for unofficial and official student-athlete prospects.

  • Assist with team calendar and daily schedules using Teamworks software.

  • Assist with roster management, including add/drop forms, player game participation, and CARA logs.

  • Coordinate staff and player meals as well as entertainment events for the student-athletes.

  • Stay updated with current NCAA regulations and maintain a thorough understanding of pertinent rules.

  • May supervise operations for interns, hourly, and student employees.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and three plus years of relevant experience in football operations or player development.

  • Extensive knowledge of NCAA rules, policies, and procedures.

  • Proficient in current football technology, including roster management software (Teamworks, ARMS, HUDL, etc.).

  • Experience as a student-athlete at Stanford preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills and demonstrated experience with office software and email applications.

  • Ability to follow through and complete assigned tasks.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Constantly perform desk-based computer tasks.

  • Frequently sitting.

  • Occasionally stand/walk, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork or parts, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

  • Rarely twist/bend/stoop/squat, kneel/crawl.

  • Outdoor working environments, including team events, practices, competitions, and team travel.

This position, along with all DAPER coaches and staff, is responsible for the integrity of Stanford's intercollegiate athletics program, recreation and wellness department, and for the reputation of Stanford University. This position is responsible for ensuring that your involvement with DAPER activities maintains the integrity of the University's reputation and does not negatively impact the relationship between the University and its faculty, staff, students, and alumni. Additionally, this position must comply with University policies and procedures, NCAA, and conference rules and regulations.

Pay Range:

The expected pay range for this position is $66,560 to $110,000 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
