Reporting to the Associate Director for Employer Relations, the Employer Events Coordinator connects with employers on a daily basis with the primary responsibility of managing all career expos/fairs and other UCC events as needed. Additional responsibilities include coordinating employer involvement in various networking and recruiting activities and assisting with the marketing and promotion of all employer events. The Employer Events Coordinator will be expected to work as part of a team, often working in conjunction with other staff members to execute targeted events.
Minimum Education and Experience
Preferred Education and Experience
Master's degree in business, human resources, higher education, or related fields.
Experience in event planning, marketing
Strong relationship management, project management, communication, organization, and marketing skills.
Experience utilizing relationship management databases such as Handshake, Symplicity, or eRecruiting.
Knowledge of basic design principles and design software is a plus
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The University Career Center is seeking a dynamic and organized Event Coordinator to join our team. The Event Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events aimed at connecting students with career opportunities, professional development resources, and networking opportunities. This role requires creativity, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders including students, employers, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, coordinate, and execute career fairs, employer information sessions, workshops, panels, and other events aimed at connecting students with employers and professional development opportunities.
Collaborate with employers, alumni, faculty, and staff to develop engaging and relevant event programming.
Coordinate event logistics including venue selection, catering, audio-visual equipment, signage, and materials preparation.
Manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure events are executed within budgetary constraints.
Promote events through various channels including social media, email newsletters, posters, and campus announcements to maximize student participation.
Work closely with the marketing and communications team to develop event promotional materials and strategies.
Provide on-site event support including set-up, registration, participant assistance, and troubleshooting.
Collect and analyze feedback from event participants to continuously improve event offerings.
Maintain accurate records of event attendance, evaluations, and outcomes.
Stay informed about current trends and best practices in event planning and career services to enhance the effectiveness of events.
Other duties as assigned.

Remote notice: After the probationary period, this role may be eligible for a hybrid (partly remote/partly in office) work schedule, subject to business need and manager approval. Must be located within the DFW Area and have the ability to be on campus with 24 hours of notice. A UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required within 14 days after approval.
Must be able to travel to off-campus employer sites, and attend professional development opportunities and other relevant events. Must possess the willingness and ability to work an unconventional work schedule that may include evenings and weekends.
