Specific Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate Exceptional Leadership in School Culture:

  • Ensure compliance with school culture systems, including behavior management and attendance protocols.

  • Assist in analyzing school-wide culture data and implementing necessary adjustments to uphold fidelity to the Adelante Playbook.

  • Maintain Accurate Discipline Records:

  • Assist in documenting scholar disciplinary actions, including conferences, suspensions, and family communication.

  • Consistently utilize Adelante Schools' technology platforms to track and respond to cultural needs.

  • In coordination with the Director of Technology & Data, assist in ensuring timely entry of culture reporting into the SIS system.

  • Promote Positive School Culture:

  • Assist in establishing and reinforcing a positive, structured, achievement-oriented school culture.

  • Provide support in responding to behavioral crises and acute issues as directed by the Director of Culture.

  • Ensure Excellent Attendance and Behavior:

  • Serve on the Attendance Team to promote excellent attendance and punctuality.

  • Potentially participate in summer home visits to reinforce family, teacher, and scholar responsibilities.

  • Address school discipline and culture issues as they arise, using the Scholar Handbook as your guide.

  • Be highly present and visible during school hours to maintain an exceptional and joyful school culture.

  • Circulate throughout classrooms and hallways to understand scholar behavior and support a positive culture.

  • Monitor school culture reset spaces in-school suspension spaces.

  • Promote Professionalism and Values:

  • Model the school's values and maintain professional behavior standards.

  • Supervise meal times, class transitions, and dismissal to ensure a professional school culture.

  • Commitment to School Hours and Additional Duties:

  • Maintain presence and engagement at the school from 7:10 AM to 4:10 PM, Monday to Friday.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Commitment to and desire for continuously improving personal practice and school culture through rigorous coaching and professional development.

  • Proven ability to contribute to and collaborate with a high-performing team toward high, equitable achievement for all scholars.

  • Outstanding emotional intelligence, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong technical and organizational skills.

  • Eagerness for constant observation and feedback

  • Deeply rooted belief that children are capable of reaching the highest bars we set for them

  • Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred

  • 2+ years of experience working with youth or teaching in an urban district or charter school setting, with an explicit focus on building rapport and trust

  • Proven track record of holding high standards and offering emotional and academic support to students
