POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Extended Learning Program Coordinator
Program: River Street School (RSS) - Windsor
Position Description:
Under the direct supervision of the CREC River Street School (RSS) Program Director and in collaboration with RSS leadership, the Extended Learning Program Coordinator is responsible for supervisory and programmatic oversight of the RSS Windsor extended learning programs. These programs occur beyond the standard school hours and the standard school year. The three services within the Extended Learning Program include Extended Learning Day, Extended School Year, and Full-Year Educational Services.
Essential Job Functions:
- With support from RSS HR, assist in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of potential candidates for employment within the Extended Learning Program at River Street Schools in Windsor.
- Collaborate with RSS leadership regarding the management and quality of services for the Extended Learning Program.
- Collaborate with RSS leadership and other providers to develop high-quality programming and effective strategic planning for the Extended Learning Program that cohesively aligns with all RSS Schools and Services.
- In collaboration with RSS Windsor Leadership faciliate efforts and initiatives to improve the culture and climate of the Extended Learning Program.
- Facilitate and integrate educational, clinical, vocational, and transition services, including opportunities for students to work and participate in the community into the Extended Learning Program in collaboration with RSS leadership, other providers, and external community partners.
- Represent the Extended Learning Program at meetings, such as PPTs.
- Oversee, assist, and provide accountability in assessing, developing, monitoring, and progress reporting of student programming, including IEPs.
Additional Duties:
- Provide direct supervision and administrative oversight of the Extended Learning Program, including late afternoons (till 5:00 PM) on school days as well during extended school year (6-week summer program) and full-year (additional 31 days during typical school vacation days)
- Develop and facilitate a core Extended Learning Program 'leadership' team, including representatives from RSS leadership, clinical, educational, vocational and other staff, tasked with identifying Program goals, ensuring adherence to student IEP objectives, improving quality of support and services, etc.
- Represent the organization externally, as needed, to districts, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to furthering CREC's social justice mission, diversity, equity, inclusion, and core values.
- CT laws and regulations regarding the provision of services to students in schools
- Autism Spectrum Disorders, Mental Health Conditions, Developmental Disabilities, Emotional Disturbance, and Children exhibiting other behavioral challenges in a school setting
- Knowledge of and experience in the application of Applied Behavior Analytic principles in school settings.
Qualifications Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
- Minimum of three to five years of school-based program leadership experience, including recruitment, placement, and supervision of paraeducators, teachers, clinical and other support staff.
- Highly flexible and adaptive work style, with the ability to prioritize among competing demands.
- Knowledge of public school district operations and CT school laws and regulations is highly desirable.
- CT 092 strongly preferred or eligible for completion within 48 months.
