Duties & responsibilities:
The Coordinator, Commercialization Network has two primary integrated responsibilities: First and foremost, plan, execute, and manage strategic and tactical efforts to grow, maintain, and engage the Commercialization Network. Alongside that, this person administers the TLA NSF I-Corps Hub Program and the Venture Mentoring Service (UAZ VMS). A lower percentage of this person's role is planning and executing outreach activities and events to engage TLA's various on- and off-campus audiences. Duties include:
Commercialization Network Management
Grow, coordinate, and manage the TLA talent and resource network (Commercialization Network)
Categorize and identify network members for various opportunities
Innovate processes/protocols for usage, management, and ongoing maintenance, as well as a process for ongoing meaningful engagement for network members
Serve as a primary contact to connect people across campus with network members, as well as connect network members with one another
Work with TLA leadership, grow the network in targeted geographic regions, areas of specialization, and diversity
Onboard and offboard network members
Increase network engagement with TLA activities through
Matching and placing mentors with teams, such as for NSF I-Corps and VMS teams
Tracking connections and monitor network analytics to evaluate outcomes and evolve strategy
Working with team members to publish a monthly newsletter for the Commercialization Network audience
Work with the department and outside partner organizations to create and manage programs spanning the lifecycle of projects in TLA's pipeline including but not limited to I-Corps, Venture Mentoring Service and monthly Round Table meetings.
I-Corps responsibilities include:
Coordinate and author reports to maintain NSF and other agency grant status
Recruit teams and mentors to participate in program
Manage curriculum development and instructor relationships
Coach site program graduates to engage in the NSF national I-Corps program and pursue other next step grant programs
Coordinate schedules and logistics for Roundtable meetings
Work with Director of Licensing and Director of Venture Development to identify primary objectives of meetings and coordinate and share meeting agendas and projects for discussion
Serve as the key contact for meetings, ensuring that participants have appropriate confidentiality paperwork in place prior to meetings, and creating and distributing post-meeting reports
UAZ VMS responsibilities include:
Managing the network of mentors to help early-stage startups, and recruit new mentors to the program.
Develop strategies and events to bring together and encourage the development of relationships between startups and potential mentors
Pair mentors with startup projects and manage and track mentor-startup relationships
Event Planning and Management
Work with the department to create and manage an event strategy to grow awareness of TLA and measure outcomes using event metrics, as well as impact on TLA core metrics and goals, such as invention disclosures, startup projects, successful startups, diversity, community engagement, and network engagement
Team with TLA stakeholders and partners to ideate, develop, and execute events on a regular basis
Identify and engage speakers/instructors as needed for programs
Track program outcomes against pre-identified goals
