Minimum Education:

  • Must be a graduate of a state approved, accredited school of Surgical Technology or Central Service Technician. High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:

  • Four years experience in an OR/CSPD environment. Experience in OR/Acute hospital preferred.

  • Knowledge of Handling, Cleaning and Distributing of Medical Equipment and related support Supplies to Patient Care Areas per recommended infection control guidelines.

  • Has working knowledge of computer.

  • Commitment to upholding and providing excellent customer service.

Required License/Certification:

  • Preferred Surgical Technology Certified or Central Service Technician Certified.

  • Fire and Safety Certification. If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date.

The Decontamination Processing Coordinator coordinates the activities of Decontam personnel engaged in decontaminating, cleaning, processing and assembling, storing and distributing sterile trays and equipment utilized for the care and treatment of Patients care areas.
