Access ASU is dedicated to increasing access to higher education and preparing Arizona students for success through family engagement, strategic K-12 education and community partnerships. Access ASU's programs and initiatives are designed to ensure all Arizona students graduate high school ready to thrive in college and the 21st century workforce.

The Coordinator is responsible for the efficient, effective, and accurate implementation of Access ASU Family Programs (including, WeGrad and HMDP). The coordinator reports directly to the corresponding Coordinator Senior of Family Programs, a position within Access ASU.

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with the population served by WeGrad/HMDP as a responsive, constructive, and empathetic professional who also possesses the advanced organizational and administrative support skills necessary to help prospective students access and navigate the process required to enter Arizona State University.

The candidate must be interested in a position focused on large-scale social change, as our programs seek to help large numbers of students access higher education. The successful candidate will be able to state a clear understanding of the process through which social change takes place and describe how their professional interests and career objectives fit with his/her knowledge of social transformation. The successful candidate will be required to make public presentations, and s/he will be called upon to discuss accessibility and admissions to Arizona State University and be conversant in the subjects most pertinent to admissions, including high school preparation requirements, FAFSA, ASU applications, and partners that support ASU in these efforts. The candidate must be willing and able to make convincing presentations to parents and students about the benefits of going to college, and specifically the benefits offered to st udents by Arizona State University (ASU).

This position significantly includes regular direct client interaction in person, via digital systems, and social media. The coordinator will have demonstrated experience and success in these environments. Academic advising is a critical part of this position.

The coordinator has significant duties, including large data processing tasks managed using Salesforce and PRISMMS databases. Considerable experience is required with maintaining database information in various systems.

Schedule: In-person, 8:00 a.m.

  • 5:00 p.m. Monday

  • Friday, however, every team member must count on working during evenings and weekends. Work location is primarily at the Mercado building at the ASU Downtown Campus; however, the incumbent will be required to travel to off-campus events and other ASU campuses every day in their own vehicle.

Working Environment

  • Sit or stand for prolong periods of time

  • Work collaboratively across various departments within the University as well as with diverse populations and groups

  • Activities are performed in-person, in an environmentally controlled office setting.

  • Use software and computer equipment (monitor, keyboard, mouse) for extended periods of office equipment (i.e., printers, copiers, telephones)

  • Lift and transport up to 35 pounds.

  • Regular activities require the ability to be flexible and adapt to quickly changing priorities.

  • Walk throughout campus for meetings or events, regardless of the weather

  • Climb stairs in locations with no elevator, such as with the mezzanine level of the MU, or Irish Hall

  • Complete a substantial amount of driving to serve the more than 4,000 students enrolled in programs. . A clean driving record, a valid Arizona driver's license, adequate automobile insurance, and a vehicle drivable for distances more than 50 miles per day are required. Employees receive travel reimbursement per applicable university policy

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Educational Outreach and Student Services (EOSS) is committed to enrolling all qualified students at Arizona State University and assisting them in their academic success. EOSS provides a broad range of services and support to students and prospective students ranging from outreach efforts with K-12 schools, orientation programs for new freshman, bridge programs to assist the transition to a university environment, and a wide variety of services, programs and activities for enrolled students. Essential Duties

  • Interpret program procedures, policies, goals, and objectives.

  • Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze and report data/results.

  • Work collaboratively to achieve objectives and goals.

  • Communicate effectively.

  • Provide services to prospective students and their families on university admission requirements.

  • Teach the parent/student training classes as needed.

  • Lead Planning Sessions and Graduation Sessions.

  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and professional development seminars.

  • Assist and/or take primary responsibility for the production of materials as needed.

  • Answer phone calls from families looking for additional assistance or information.

  • Assist in the development of workshops, conferences, and seminars for students and their family.

  • Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and participant communications, as assigned.

  • Engage school-based staff to identify future potential students.

  • Database entry and processing tasks that are managed using Salesforce and PRISMMS.

  • Coordinate and support Slick text communications to all Family Programs and events.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of PC-based office applications and specifically Prismms and Salesforce.

  • Assist in developing and coordinating outreach strategies to meet the goals of enrolling the full demographic of Arizona students. With a focus on application, admit and enrollment to ASU.

  • Other duties as assigned.
