Florida A&M University's International Study/Exchange Program is pleased to announce the acceptance of qualified applications for the Academic Programs Coordinator position (Study Abroad Coordinator).

Responsibilities

The incumbent will be performing the following duties: Advise students on study abroad and other international education opportunities; Assist in the processing of grades for study abroad students; Serve as liaison between FAMU and officials at other foreign host institutions; Promote study abroad scholarships and fellowships such as Gilman, Boren, and Fulbright; Provide advising for study abroad scholarships and fellowships such as Gilman, Boren, and Fulbright; Publicize international education opportunities on campus and maintain the office website and Terra Dotta Maintain program records; Serve as liaison between the Office of International Education and Development and other FAMU offices; and Assist in the preparation of Title III reports.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience; or master's degree in appropriate area of specialization.

Ability to demonstrate critical thinking based upon in-depth data and substantiating information while considering and respecting others' input and personal values and ethics;

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing;

Ability to function independently with minimal supervision;

Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations;

Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and etiquette;

Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously; and

Demonstrated skill in preparing clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials.

Pay Plan

This is an Administrative and Professional (A&P) position.

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate is subject to a pre-employment screening which includes a review of criminal records, reference checks and verification of education. An official college transcript, a high school diploma, or other educational documents must be submitted, where applicable, at the time of employment.

You will be required to provide proof of your identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of employment.

Section 110.1128, Florida Statutes, prohibits employment by the State (including re-hire after a break in service) of any male born after October 1, 1962, who failed to register with the Selective Service System, under the provisions of the U.S. Military Selective Service Act, during the person's period of eligibility (ages 18 through 25). Additionally, if currently employed by the State, this law prohibits the promotion of such person. You may be required to provide documentation.
