Job Summary: This position provides administrative support for the Assistant Vice President, Student Engagement and Belonging as well as the Vice President for the Office of Inclusion, Diversity and Belonging. The incumbent demonstrates openness and commitment to inclusion, focusing on creating an environment that supports student engagement and success across the College and virtually. The incumbent is expected to utilize a considerable amount of independent initiative, judgment, problem solving, and analytic ability to serve students and assist the department and associated units.
Minimum Qualifications:
H.S. Diploma or equivalent and 4 years related experience.
Licensing Requirements: Valid driver's license required.
Hiring Range: $43,019 - $53,774
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, Management of projects, ability to lead teams and work independently, strong customer service, excellent time management.
Job Specific Task List:
Applies substantial independence in planning, decision making, and action to support the Assistant Vice President for Student Engagement; serves as front-line person for the unit of student engagement; demonstrates a commitment to out of class education, support, and engagement for students and the community; presents a friendly, positive, patient, tolerant attitude and a positive image of the institution in all interactions; represents the division and College at external events.
Ensures excellence in timely communications; responds to student concerns in a manner that is caring, non-judgmental, professional, and open; resolves problems and issues by researching concerns and determines course of action; makes independent determinations, decisions and recommendations; refers issues to appropriate resource when necessary.
Assists with project management and coordination of long-range planning; performs research to assist with identifying best practices and trends; coordinates events and training for department staff; coordinates collection and reporting of operational metrics and quality assurance procedures; facilitates and follow-ups on assignments and deadlines; coordinates budget planning and allocation of resources for the needs of the department; enters purchase orders and handles logistical details.
Demonstrates impeccable discretion and judgment in maintaining confidential information and professionalism; may work flexible hours including nights and weekends according to College operating requirements; may require travel for meetings, conferences, or between locations; demonstrates excellent organization, detail-oriented skills, and the ability to anticipate and address problems in advance and creatively problem-solve in the moment.
Coordinates and creates content for the college wide Student Newsletter using applications such as Google Docs and Microsoft Office products; works independently to writes content, perform college wide outreach, collect information, and meet deadlines in conjunction with other College divisions such as the Office of College Advancement.
Develops, maintains, and disseminates departmental policies and procedures; maintains departmental standard operating procedures (SOP) manuals; researches and responds to concerns; ensures the availability of accurate information to students; employs multiple channels of outreach such as email, flyers, and social media. - (Essential)
