  1. Coordinate the day-to-day operations for the technician team.

Under the direction of the Supervisor/Manager, provide input on how to a perform task and how to achieve the goals.

Assist with the determination of daily assignments. Prioritize and delegate tasks and projects within the department. Schedule appropriate coverage when necessary. Provides ongoing oversight of daily technical functions addressing opportunities as they present themselves to assure that operational areas run smoothly, and the department meets demands for services in an accurate and timely manner.

Assist with the creation and coordination of work schedules, vacation schedules, time off and overtime. Assists with the development and maintenance of the technician and extern schedule. Assists with the variances with the technicians hours to minimize overtime while maintaining optimal patient care. Assists with the coordination and oversight of training and orientation for new technicians. This role will communicate appropriate communication to technicians and organize team meetings when necessary, including, huddles, 1:1; s and workflow meetings. The tech coordinator will assist with written and verbal communications as needed. Assists Manager with annual technician performance appraisals and annual competencies are completed. Maintains and updates the technicians job descriptions as needed.

2.Demonstrates superior knowledge in all areas as defined by the departmental procedure.

Recognized as the go to person in the department Assist with maintaining competency checklists and assists in the development and maintenance of advancement certification document. Ensure that technicians are competent in their duties and complete training and assessments as necessary. Assists with development of new and updating procedures for assigned area. Assists with assuring updating training modules for assigned areas. Serve on any quality or safety workgroups or committees as found necessary to help improve patient safety and enhance the quality of the care provided. Consummate team player who epitomizes the ICARE values and expectations. Provides superior customer service while following the AIDET principles.

3.Provide administrative and operations support as needed, including:

Assists with the maintenance and updating of technician component of pharmacy policies. Assists the pharmacist in the entry and dispensing of medications in a timely and accurate manner. Assist in staffing (20-50%) when necessary and provide competency in all areas of the pharmacy and technician duties.

4.Actively participates in attaining departmental goals for inventory management by:

Overseeing the training and execution of the technicians surrounding inventory management. Ensure the pharmacy is compliant with 340B policies and procedures related to inventory management, placing and receiving orders, and daily workflow.

5.Performs other duties as assigned

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • Possess a high school diploma or certificate

  • PTCB or NHA certification

  • Registered with the Board of Pharmacy in state of practice as applicable

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Customer service skills and reflect the ICARE attitude

  • Understanding of Metric system and Rx calculations

  • Medical terminology

  • Inventory management

  • Knowledge of Medication Safety

  • Operations and workflow management

  • Superior problem solving and critical thinking skills

  • Experience in leading people and/or projects

  • Experience with teaching and training

Kind and Length of Experience:

  • 24 months pharmacy experience

DESIRABLE

  • Experience working with diverse populations

  • Prescription prior authorization submission experience

  • Understanding billing prescription insurance claims

  • Medicare B billing

  • Know brand and generic medication names for the top 100 drugs as well as drug schedule and purpose

  • 340B Purchasing Program knowledge

  • Perform medication histories

  • Expertise in USP 797/800 guidelines

  • Previous Lead Tech/Tech III at St. Elizabeth Healthcare or 1 year leadership experience at previous role
