As a Co-Op Mechanical Engineer, you will develop and enhance your engineering skills within the Global Faucets business unit at Kohler Co. We seek someone who is pursuing a career in Mechanical Engineering and enjoys team collaboration. This position is located in Kohler, Wisconsin.

Skills/Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering discipline; preferably Junior academic status or higher.

  • Additional skills sought include high attention to detail, solid oral and written communication and personal interactions skills, and the ability to work on and complete multiple tasks in a timely fashion.

Skills/Requirements Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements: * Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited program required. Advanced degree highly desirable. * Prior co-op or internship experience highly desirable. * Support maintaining product specification for existing products. Modify products and components to meet the needs of manufacturing, the customer, the market and regulatory bodies. * Analyze existing product for cost savings opportunities. Determines the technical feasibility of modifications or product redesigns for existing products. * Provide engineering analysis and implementation of design modifications recommended for improved production efficiency, cost efficiency, and customer needs across multiple plants, worldwide. * Maintains state-of-the-art awareness of relevant product technologies. Originates ideas for product and component features, modifications, and new products. * During the course of product revision efforts, establish, update and maintain product specifications, including all meaningful details pertinent to product manufacturability requirements, regulatory considerations, and marketing/sales considerations. * Creates multiple approaches to complex problems and then applies Engineering techniques such as Design for Six Sigma, FEA and others to optimize a solution. * Develop and optimize robust component and product specifications to meet customer, Kohler and regulatory requirements. * Assure functional acceptability through testing and analysis. Maintain established styling parameters on production components and assemblies. Prepare drawings and documentation needed to define or update the product specification.
