Skills and Requirements

Candidates must currently be in pursuit of a 4- year undergraduate degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field. General knowledge of SAP and proficiency in the MS office suit and AutoCAD preferred. Training in Six Sigma, Lean methodologies desired.

Critical skills required:

  • Available to work from May 2019 through December 2019, flexible on timing is available

for the right candidate.

  • Able to communicate effectively with others and build credibility and rapport.

  • Able to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a systematic approach to decision-making.

  • Picks up knowledge quickly, energizing, leadership, highly reliable and positive attitude.

  • Team player, flexible and adaptive.

  • Able to travel 25-50% of the time.

Then consider joining Kohler Co. as a Supply Chain Senior Project Leader. Under the direction of the Manager-Continuous Improvement & Logistics Strategy, the Continuous Improvement Project Leader is tasked to develop, validate, and implement methods and tools that improve the operational flexibility, execution, and quality of Kohler distribution operations using appropriate logistics concepts and lean principles. The Continuous Improvement Project Leader develops and supports customer-focused quality plans to assure customer satisfaction and achievement of business objectives. They will support statistical-based quality inspection planning, as well as measure and provide results of quality assurance audits and inspections. They will provide analysis of service and production data to identify trends and areas requiring improvement. They will be the leader for advanced quality planning, focused on continual improvement and during new facility startups. Specific Responsibilities * Work with assigned areas to prevent and address systemic quality opportunities for improvement. * Create and revise procedures as applicable across multiple functional areas, including generation of process maps to support training activities. * Support validation activities to include, as applicable, creation of validation plan, execution of validation, and review of validation records. * Analyze statistical data and provide solutions to complex problems. * Conduct periodic process audits to ensure processes are capable and stable. * Generate new ideas or methods on how to significantly reduce defects found in operations. * Perform detailed root cause analysis on quality problems and assist with corrective and preventive action plans. * Lead strategic and tactical multi-step improvement plans. * Effectively coach CI to operations leaders. * Provide input for and lead improvement of key strategic business goals for the organization. These measures specifically target improvement in safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale, and sustainability. * Model results-orientation among rest of peers to achieve breakthrough improvements and achieve team objectives. * Guide teams to select projects/initiatives that will result in significant business impact. * Provide financial or other justification for projects. * Reduce costs by eliminating waste related to the logistics functions; including returns, repack, and material handling damage. Skills/Requirements * Bachelor's degree in engineering or supply chain required with a minimum of 5 years of experience in operations and/or quality and process improvement. * Experience with tools and methods in lean, continuous improvement, or six sigma with responsibility for multi-site deployment. * Ability to teach, mentor, and coach across multiple levels of an operation. * Multi-site responsibility for system deployment (Quality or CI) with proven ability to juggle multiple responsibilities. * Strong leadership and change-agent skills. * Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time if not based in Kohler, Wisconsin.
