Gifford Medical Center is seeking a Cook/Nutrition Assistant to work in our Nutrition and Food Service department. This is a unique opportunity to work in a spectacular setting at a rural, financially stable, non-profit hospital with a progressive philosophy, supportive administrative team and advanced technology.
The positions main focus is to learn and accomplish all duties set forth by the chefs and manager to accomplish the objective of hospitality in a safe and sanitary environment. He/She will also be responsible for providing meals for patients, employees and visitors of the hospital; learning, understanding and practicing all guidelines set forth by the ServeSafe program; operating various departmental equipment (ovens, mixers, etc.); providing basic kitchen prep, dessert and baking skills; and following and understanding instructions (recipes, department policies, etc.). Must actively participate in a team-oriented approach to assure an enjoyable customer experience, while communicating in a positive and professional manner.
The successful applicant will have the flexibility to work varying shifts to include weekends and holidays. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.
Prior experience in food service preferred. EOE
