The Primary purpose of your role as a cook is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Administrator and/or Head Chef, to assure that quality food service is provided at all times.

We are white table cloth here at our Park Place of St John Campus, and we need someone who is capable of understanding scratch cooking and be able to work sometimes in a supervisory role. We serve contemporary comfort food with some upscale menu items and we do more high end catered events throughout the year. We need someone who is capable of handling this type of cooking.

This positon would include shifts from 6am-2pm and 10am-6pm with some weekends and holidays included.

Summary

  • Review menus prior to preparation of food; and ensure that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.

  • Assist in standardizing the methods in which work will be accomplished.

  • Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus.

  • Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.

  • Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.

  • Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet

Skills necessary

  • Must have at least 2 years of professional cooking experience.

  • Indiana Food Sanitation License preferred.

  • Must be knowledgeable of dietary procedures.

  • Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.

  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.

  • Must have a professional attitude & appearance.

The primary role is to protect, sustain, and nurture the elders by providing assistance with activities of daily living, and meeting other needs as required. The core goal of the work of the care partner will be to provide assistance, which promotes quality of life and a positive elder hood. The responsibilities of the care partner includes care of the elder and the elders' environment, including cooking, laundry, and housekeeping. The care member is a member of a Self-Directed Work Team (SDWT) and is responsible for coordinating aspects of the team's work. Summary of essential job functions * Assist with the admissions process and greet residents and family members. * Provide family style care to the residents, being "one of the family". * Responsible for cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. * Make fluids and snacks available between meals and at bedtime. * Assist in toileting, bathing, and daily grooming of assigned residents. * Support and represent the mission of Providence as shown by your actions while on duty. * Maintain a calm, pleasant living environment for the residents. * Document changes in medical condition to the appropriate nurses on duty. * Give and receive shift reports to ensure consistent medical care is delivered. * Measure and record vital signs as necessary or instructed. * Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet. Skills necessary * Must have a compassionate, empathetic and nurturing personality. * Must truly have a desire to care for the elderly. * Must be mature and career minded. * Must have a Nursing Assistant Certification for the State of Indiana. * Previous experience in long-term care is a plus.
