Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center (PSBHC) is an intensive inpatient psychiatric program for males and females, ages 5 - 17 years old. We offer a highly structured supportive and safe environment for children and adolescents who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, family, and social challenges.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE/ WORK ENVIRONMENT
Responsible for the preparation and portioning of meals following dietary recipes and menus. Monitors the quality and temperature of all foods while being held before being placed on the serving line for each meal.
Responsible for dishwashing and serving food in the cafeteria to patients, employees, and guests. Assure patient diets are met and options are available for those patients with special dietary needs. Also responsible for maintaining a sanitary environment assuring all appropriate procedures are followed at all times.
Education: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Experience: Food, restaurant, or institutional service is required, of which hospital dietary department experience is preferred.
The ability to read and write in English is required.
Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Pre-employment Drug Test.
Employee has the ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and facility information. Has ability to understand and demonstrate appropriate boundaries between self, staff, and patients.
Must be able to obtain Food handler permit (Safe Serve) upon hire.
Good physical health and good mental attitude is essential. Stands and walks most of the day.
Handles and manipulates equipment. Stoops and reaches for equipment lift and carries food and kitchen equipment. Must be able to lift and/or carry 50 to 75 pounds and withstand exposure to temperature and humidity changes as in entering refrigerated storage areas, working at ovens, ranges, meat slicer, food processor, dish-washing machines, and at steam tables. Tastes and smells food to determine quality.
