DescriptionJOB SUMMARY

The Cook is responsible for preparing food orders and coordinates kitchen activities.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cooks or otherwise prepares food according to recipe.

  • Cooks food in quantities according to menu and number of persons to be served.

  • Inventories food, supplies and equipment weekly; orders as needed.

  • Ensures all temp logs and waste logs are maintained daily.

  • Directs personnel assisting in preparation and serving of meals.

  • Receives, dates, and examines foodstuffs and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications.

  • Ensures kitchen is clean and tidy.

  • Stocks kitchen at end of each shift.

  • All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE & CERTIFICATION

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.

  • Ability to effectively delegate and direct the work of others.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position.

  • Knowledge of and ability to appropriately interpret and follow policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.

  • Ability to meet the demands of the work schedule, to be at work and on time. May occasionally require the ability to work outside of regularly scheduled hours. Schedules may vary based on business need.

El Cocinero es responsable de preparar las ordenes de comida y coordinar las actividades de la cocina.

OBLIGACIONES Y RESPONSABILIDADES DEL PUESTO DE TRABAJO

  • Cocinar o preparar los alimentos de acuerdo a la receta.

  • Cocinar los alimentos en cantidades de acuerdo al men y al numero de personas que se va a servir.

  • Hacer inventario semanal de los alimentos, provisiones y equipo; Colocar ordenes cuando sea necesario.

  • Asegurarse que todos los registros de temperaturas y de desperdicios se mantengan actualizados diariamente.

  • Dirigir al personal ayudndoles a preparar y servir las comidas.

  • Recibir, colocar fechas y examinar los alimentos, provisiones y utensilios para garantizar su calidad y cumplir con los estndares de cantidades y especificaciones establecidas.

  • Asegurarse que la cocina este limpia y ordenada.

  • Reabastecer la cocina al final de cada turno.

  • Todas las otras obligaciones que se le asignen.

ESTUDIOS, EXPERIENCIA, LICENCIAS Y CERTIFICACION

  • Certificado de curso de un ao de college o escuela tcnica; o tres a seis meses de experiencia o capacitacin relacionada a la materia; o una combinacin equivalente de estudios y experiencia.
