Overview

The Salvation Army's Cambridge Corps is hiring a Cook and offers excellent benefit package to eligible employees including:

Location: 402 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA

Pay Range: $17 to $19.15 per hour depending upon experience and qualifications

The cook will prepare and serve meals to homeless guests as scheduled by the Operations Director.

Prepare daily meal according to planned menu with flexibility to creatively utilize food donations. Maintain clean and orderly kitchen in accordance with Department of Health regulations Work with Operations Director in menu planning and relay supply and purchasing needs. Foster cooperative atmosphere in kitchen working with staff, volunteers and guests who will be assisting with preparation and clean up responsibilities. Meet regularly with Operations Director for supervision as it relates to shelter and personnel issues. Provide substitute hours for other feeding programs as deemed necessary by the Operations Director. Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school degree required

• Minimum 1 year experience working in a kitchen

• Experience in meal preparation for at least 35 persons

• Interest and ability to work with diverse population - guests, volunteers, etc.

• ServeSafe certified
