Description

This part time, benefit eligible cook position is available at Ridgeview LeSueur Medical Center. Primary shifts are 1st (days) and 2nd (evenings) with an every other weekend rotation. Previous experience is required.

Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for preparing and cooking food for consumption by patients, residents, tenants, employees, and visitors. This position also prepares food for meals on wheels.

Job Functions

  • Prepares, seasons, and cooks food for patients, staff, visitors, and special functions.

  • Coordinates timing of preparation in order to meet service schedules for patients, residents, staff, and visitors.

  • Adheres to standardization of recipes and portion control to prevent food waste and control cost.

  • Practices and adheres to safety guidelines from the State Department of Health.

  • Gives directions to personnel who assist in food preparation.

  • Orients and mentors new staff members.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

Employment Requirements

Minimum Education/Work Experience/License/Certifications

  • Previous food service experience pertaining to institutional or casual/fine dining cooking, operation of kitchen equipment, food handling and sanitation

  • Completion of sanitation course and certification within one year of employment as cook

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Basic food and culinary terms, cooking methods pertaining to food preparation

  • Ability to complete basic mathematical problems

  • Knowledge of modified diet food preparation

  • Knife skills and small tool handling

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task

  • Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Culinary degree

  • Serv/Safe certified in food safety handling and preparation within 6 months of hire

Previous experience in Community Relations or a related field is required, as well as a degree in Marketing/Communications. Purpose of Job This position is responsible for developing and implementing community relations activities, public relations and internal/external communication for Ridgeview Le Sueur Medical Center and Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center facilities (including hospitals, clinics, nursing home, housing), and for providing support for marketing and communication activities throughout the Ridgeview system. This includes but is not limited to the development and production and/or coordination of promotional campaigns and materials, events, community education, general marketing collateral, social media, internal communication and website content. Job Functions 1. Supports ongoing integration of Ridgeview brand throughout the organization. 2. Identifies promotion and communication needs and opportunities for Ridgeview Le Sueur Medical Center and Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center facilities and services; develops, plans and executes communication strategy. 3. Identifies and oversees print, advertising, public relations, outreach (including events, sponsorships) and community education activities for Ridgeview Le Sueur and Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center facilities and services. 4. Prepares status and measurement reports for promotional efforts.\ 5.
