Job Purpose

Prepares and cooks basic food items in a cafeteria or restaurant environment according to Lakeview recipes, while following Local, State, and Federal regulations and Lakeview policy. Responsible for following instructions and carrying out assignments properly. Must have 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen setting.

• GED or High School Graduation is preferred.

• At least three years of cooking experience are preferred.

• Obtainment of Food Handler Permit within 15 days of employment start date is strongly encouraged.

• Must be able to read written documents, including but not limited to Hazardous Materials labels, job check lists, and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

• Ability to work irregular hours.

• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed, straight-forward written and/or oral instructions.

• Ability to perform tasting and or/smelling of food items.

• Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.

• Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.
