The Cook II ensures that all hot and cold food productions from all stations are completed with the highest quality standards in a timely and efficient manner, as established by the company. The individual also helps maintain sanitation standards along with helping with product supervision, including order receiving, storage and production.
Assists with all hot and cold production, but not limited to, including soup, sauces, gravies, entrees, vegetables and starches.
Complies with all established portion sizes, food quality standards, company and department rules, policies and procedures.
Responsible for helping maintaining an efficient and sanitary working kitchen.
This person helps all kitchen stations with production or clean-up including catering, as needed, and ensures all Health Department standards of operating procedures are followed by all culinary personnel.
May be needed to serve on the line during service times.
Able to provide quick and quality guest service is a must.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years of Cafe Cook/Sous Chef experience required.
Graduate of a culinary school or other hospitality program preferred.
Food service sanitation skills, excellent organization and communication skills are necessary.
Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
Must be able to maintain several tasks at one time and have effective time-management skills.
The ability to step into any role when needed is imperative and able to be to set the standards.
Above-average knowledge of food and cooking procedures is helpful.
Must be able to speak clearly and effectively as well as listen attentively to kitchen team members and guests.
Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods up to four (4) hours in length without a rest period.
Must have the ability to grip, lift, and carry pots, pans, tables etc., up to 40 pounds in weight repetitively.
Must be able to manipulate utensils used in food preparation on a constant basis.
