Job Summary

Prepare food items in a sanitary, professional, and efficient manner for events held within CRVA facilities such as Bojangles Entertainment Complex.

A. Essential Job Duties

  • Assists with food production duties.

  • Involved in the development of food presentation concepts and ensures all food is presented in the manner it was intended.

  • Accomplishes tasks on the production list, verified by Supervisor/Manager.

  • Properly maintain and store company inventory including utensils, cookware, and machinery.

  • Familiar with standard recipes and yields.

  • Responsible for the assigned production of hot and cold foods including garnishes.

  • Prepare, cook, and season all food.

  • Responsible for fast and clean servicing of all menu items.

  • Ability to grill, fry, and serve menu items.

  • Ability to delegate tasks to temp staff.

  • Assists with all food received are stored, labeled, and rotated properly.

  • Responsible for the execution of assigned breakfast, lunch, dinner, or receptions.

  • Adhere to the compliance of all health and safety standards.

  • Maintain a neat, organized workstation at all times.

  • May perform other duties as required.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes nights and weekends and possibly holidays

  • Abide by appearance standards

Scope of Responsibility

  • This job has no budgetary responsibilities.

  • This job will have periodic access to confidential data including customer quotes, and company plans, designs, and programs.

  • This position is responsible through the direction of the Chefs for assisting managing the part time and temporary labor force utilized with-in the banquet kitchen.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Ability to anticipate customer needs, builds positive relationships with customers and vendors, goes the extra mile to satisfy and exceed customer needs.

  • Ability to attend to multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Ability to operate and maintain the following kitchen equipment: stoves, grills, fryers, other basic equipment, and other utensils when preparing food.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Treats all customers and vendors with highest degree of respect and courtesy, and delivers exceptional service to internal and external customers.

  • Basic knowledge of regulatory, departmental, and company policies/procedures in an ethical manner.

  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation standards and procedures.

  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and presentation.

  • Ability to handle knives and other hand health instruments, as well as food preparation equipment required.

  • Maintain a clean and organized environment that ensures safety in structure for both themselves and their team members.

  • Remain calm under pressure as well as make decisions efficiently and quickly.

Education and Experience

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of food Service equipment and general kitchen knowledge

  • Serv-Safe Certified

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • At least one year cooking experience in high volume food service operation.

Physical Demands

  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds. Be able to push and pull up to 300 pounds on a cart.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee must be able to be on feet for 8-hour shifts.

  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grasp items.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

This job has no travel requirements.
