QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preferably knowledgeable and experienced in food preparation.

  • Demonstrates cooperativeness and willingness to acquire added skills in the area of nutrition and related areas.

  • Must have a food handlers license.

REPORTS TO: Head Cook

JOB GOAL: To assist the head cook in serving students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and warmth.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To serve students attractive and nutritious meals in a friendly, efficient, and clean atmosphere.

  • To assist in the preparation and serving of food in a quick and pleasant manner.

  • To assume responsibility for seeing to it that the supply of food offered is replenished regularly during meal service periods.

  • To assist in the daily clean-up of the kitchen and service areas.

  • To perform major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the head cook.

  • To assume responsibility for storage and disposal of unused food.

  • To perform other assigned tasks as required by the immediate supervisor

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work year-184 days-6 hours daily-salary to be determined according to salary schedule.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the school board's policy on evaluation of Supportive Services Personnel.
