Cook Responsibilities
Prepare and serve food according to menu to meet tenants' nutritional needs
Assist with ordering food/supplies as needed
Record temperatures and check food quality before distribution
Assist with maintaining existing inventory of food/supplies by sorting, labeling and dating
Maintain a clean food production area through proper sanitization and food/waste disposal
Oversee sanitization of kitchen and other food-related areas/equipment
Update/maintain menu boards for tenants as needed
Assist Food Service Manager with hiring, orienting, training and supervising dietary staff

Qualifications
Cook Qualifications
MN Food Protection Manager certificate of course completion, or must obtain within 90 days of hire, and maintained thereafter
Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing
One year experience as a cook preparing food in a long-term care setting preferred
Ability to work as a team member and resolve problem situations constructively
Experience working with seniors preferred
