Center for Change is seeking an experienced full-time Cook to work with our dietary team to prepare appetizing and nutritional meals for inpatients at the Center.

Schedule: 40 hours / week
1:00 PM - 9:00 PM Thursday & Friday; 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM Saturday & Sunday


  • Maintain high standards in the preparation of quality hot and cold foods following established recipes, including main dish production and portion control

  • Work with Food Services Manager regarding special dietary needs and apply any special dietary restrictions to recipes

  • Unpack food deliveries; stock and rotate products

  • Ensure quality and safety standards for preparing and serving food

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment in accordance with Health Department Standards

The Center's Philosophy:

Center for Change is a specialty hospital for the treatment of women suffering from eating disorders. The Center's philosophy on treating eating disorders focuses on providing patients with opportunities to explore and redevelop a healthy relationship with food, helping them eat intuitively according to hunger and fullness. Each patient at the Center receives weekly individual counseling sessions with a Registered Dietitian and attends weekly nutrition classes which focus on a variety of topics such as relearning the ability to sense hunger and fullness, making peace with food, and enjoying the eating experience. The Kitchen Staff work closely with the dietitians in the planning and preparation of meals and snacks.

Job Requirements

  • Experience handling food and preparing meals for medium to large groups of people (40 - 50)

  • One year culinary experience preferred

  • Must be able to read and follow recipes

  • Food Handler Permit or ServSafe Certification is required

  • Exhibit basic culinary knowledge (including products, terminology, and cooking techniques) and knife skills

  • Ability to work well within a team environment


Base wage: $13.00/hour, dependent upon experience
