SUMMARY OF POSITION
The cook is responsible for preparing food in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations with Frontline established policies and procedures, may be directed by the Head cook or the Director of Dining Services to assure the highest quality food and service is provided at all times.
Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus
Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
Serve food in accordance with portion controls
Be sure appropriate utensils are provided with the president's meal tray,
Prepare and serve substitutes foods to residents who refuse food.
Applies health and safety regulations and policies that relate to own position; including exposure to blood or bodily fluids
Maintains/follows knowledge of safety issues
Reports unsafe working situations to appropriate authorities.
Recommend to Director the equipment and supply needs of the department
Inspects deliveries for quality and delivery issues.
Responds to residences needs in a timely, professional, helpful, and courteous manner, regardless of residence attitude.
Shows residence that their perspectives are valued.
Strives to meet service standards in all circumstances.
Maintain the confidentiality of all residence PHI.
Report any complaints made by residents to the Director of Food Services
Knock Before Entering the resident's room
Report incidents or suspected incidents of resident abuse to the DON immediately.
Honor the resident's refusal of treatment or medication request
Report a residence refusal of treatment or medication to eh nurse supervisor/ Charge Nurse
Attend Annual in-service training programs such as; OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, Safety, Infection Control, ect.
Attend and participate in orientation programs as necessary.
Participate in an in service training program prior to performing tasks that involve potential exposure to blood of body fluids.
