Job summary: This position functions as part of a team that insures safe and fresh delivery of foods and services to patients as well as customers in a timely and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Adheres to proper safety/sanitation standards, maintains a clean work area at all times.
2.Uses standardized recipes to prepare daily menu items and catered items, maintain and documents proper food temperatures and follow labeling protocol.
3.Follows daily production guidelines as directed by management.
4.Interacts with staff and customers in a courteous manner.
5.Familiarization with all cooking equipment as well as basic cooking methods; including presentation cooking for retail operations, as well as cooking to order, ala minute, on a typical restaurant-style hot line for room service.
6.Requisitions necessary food and supplies, maintaining established par levels in their related work area.
7.Physical job tasks include: continuous standing; frequent walking; lifting up to 20 lbs. continuously and up to 50 lbs. occasionally; carrying up to 20 lbs. continuously and up to 50 lbs. occasionally; pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs. continuously and up to 100 lbs. occasionally; frequent bending and reaching; continuous repetitive use of hands; machine operation; exposure to extreme hot/cold temperatures, exposure to gases, fumes, and chemicals
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1.Perform other food service functions as requested by management.
2.Assist in training new staff.
3.Identifies malfunctioning equipment and notifies management in a timely manner.
High School diploma, GED, or culinary certification preferred, but not required.
State of Illinois Food Handler Training Certificate Program (ANSI Accredited) required prior to start of employment
