Senior Systems Integrator - Electrical Engineering Function Overview We are seeking qualified candidates as a Senior Systems Integrator - Electrical Engineering to join our Manufacturing plants. This position will be responsible for development and execution of day-to-day (D2D), Cost reduction and Quality improvement activities related to all Electronics and Electrical systems to be used on home appliances in the Cooking domain. This role will support and drive projects to reduce direct material costs and improve the quality of electrical components applied to Whirlpool Cooking products. All the projects should be conducted considering Whirlpool's strategy, robust technical design, innovative solutions and implementation speed. The Senior Systems Integrator - Electrical Engineering will also support our manufacturing day-to-day (D2D) activities to maintain current production models running at planned quality and production forecasted volumes. There will be interaction with various cross functional areas within the company (procurement, manufacturing teams, quality assurance, cooking platform subsystems, etc) and electronics and electrical component suppliers (both direct and tier 2 suppliers) and will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes, and utilize expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others to effect short-term and some long-term business goals. Job Responsibilities * Manage system integration of projects in Production Development Projects * Responsible to support Manufacturing plants for day to day operations related to Cooking Appliance manufacturing, issues, changes and productivity. * Responsible for diagnosing/solving problems related to Electrical & Electronics system of cooking appliances specifically in a production line environment * Identifying and optimising relationship between electronics system of cooking appliances and the production line test equipment, to ensure 100% coverage of potential failure modes (design and process related), maximize the yield rate and minimize testing duration/ scrap rate * Initial investigation of potential defects related to electronics system of cooking appliances while running environmental/endurance/reliability tests, considering the effect of production processes/ part to part variation * Detecting defect parts from supplier by using diagnostic equipment and/or involving subject matter experts for deeper analysis. Lead the analysis and communication process to internal/external stakeholders * Maintaining a database of information related to production SKUs with focus in the electronics system of cooking appliances * Lead derivative development activities: define requirements and monitor the validation process * Support ramp-up phase of architectural/mega projects with a focus on the interaction between the electronics system and the production environment (run rate, part to part variation, assembly process,...) * Identify ideas and lead implementation of design changes for cost/complexity optimization and quality improvement * Responsible for identifying, developing and validating alternative solutions to parts/ sub-components running in mass production in case of shortage/ end of life events to ensure production continuity Minimum Requirements * Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline * 3+ years' experience of product development or project management in a factory or manufacturing environment Preferred Requirements * Master's degree * Ability to work cross-functionally and influence others * Product delivery and Technical leadership in systems engineering * Appliance knowledge * Project management * System integration and design * Critical thinking, problem solving approach with OPEX certification RSRWH About us Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR) is the world's leading major home appliance company, with approximately $21 billion in annual sales, 92,000 employees and 70 manufacturing and technology research centers in 2017.
