This position is responsible for safely, efficiently and professionally providing balanced, nutritional meals and other foods for the vessel crew, to serve them in a timely manner, to maintain galley stores, supplies, and to do so within the budget allowed.

Pay Type: Hourly

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to all company policies
• Prepare three (3) meals daily; meals are to be ready at designated times (breakfast/lunch/dinner)
• Follow proper sanitation practices and food preparation standards
• Maintain the galley such as dishes being washed, counters/cabinets cleaned, floors swept/mopped, etc.
• Follow budget guidelines for food ordering

Experience

• Up to one (1) year of meal preparation experience
• Culinary and dietary skills/knowledge
• Extended meal planning

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High School Diploma or GED, preferred
• Reliable transportation
• Regular and punctual attendance
• Effective communication is required
• ServSafe Certification is preferred
• Work Safely
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary
• Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
• Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
• Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

JOB SCHEDULE AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)
• Must be able to work 7 days a week with 12-hour shifts (subject to the applicant’s religious practices)
• Ability/willingness to work any shift assigned
• Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
• Ability to push/pull as needed
• Standing, bending, step, climbing, crawling and working overhead
• Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed
