Job Overview

Cook 1 must maintain a working knowledge of the menu and how food is received, produced, stored and served. Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of all menu items. This position could potentially require coaching and leadership for Cooks II.

This position is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the working back of house area. Duties include but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, restocking a multitude of items, washing dishes & reorganizing product in storage areas. Proper food storage and handling within health department guidelines is a necessity.

Responsibilities and Duties

Interact with our fellow hosts and guests with a friendly and helpful manner at all times

Comply with Callaway standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations at all times.

  • Be able to effectively keep up with the needs of guest food orders, while maintaining consistent communication with the front of house staff.

  • Must be able to open and setup work space and/or breakdown work space for the day.

  • Must be able to communicate with front of house, and supervisors about concerns or par levels of food for the day.

  • Must work well with a team.

  • Be able to work well in high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and objectivity. Ability to withstand temperature variations both hot and cold.

  • Be able to interact with guests and hosts in a friendly service oriented manner.

  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming to include wearing a name tag and proper uniform while working.

  • Maintain a clean working area, follow proper dating and handling of food consistent with health department standards, and following proper sanitation standards at all times.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager. Always comply with standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.

Qualifications

  • Must have availability to work on weekends and holidays.

  • Responsibilities may require working in multiple kitchens throughout various shifts.

  • Working closely with others is required. Open communication is required.

  • Must be able to lift or move at least 25lbs regularly. Heavier weight on occasion. Must be able to work in any weather condition. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
