3M is seeking a Converting Technician for the Drug Delivery Systems Division manufacturing site located in Northridge, CA. At 3M, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter. Here, you go.
Responsible for the setup, operation of converting and packaging equipment that produces Transdermal Pharmaceutical drugs. The converting technician is responsible for effectively utilizing their skills to produce a product that meets established GMP quality standards. In addition, the converting technician is expected to accomplish this by following and executing the Manufacturing Order (MO) instructions and Plant SOPs. The converting technician is also responsible for insuring the converting and packaging equipment is operated within established process parameters, and any additional implemented methods that apply. The converting technician is also responsible for operator activities within production area as required.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Operates converting and packaging equipment and assures that correct input components are used in the correct amounts per requirements for all products being manufactured.
Performs converting and packaging equipment parts installations, change-over and set-up operations in a timely, efficient, safe, accurate, and compliant manner.
Insures all products manufactured and packaged by the converter and packager meets GMP manufacturing specifications.
Follows all cleaning procedures that are outlined in department SOP`s, batch records, and protocols for the converting and packaging equipment.
Follows all safety procedures outlined in the EHS SOP for proper machine guarding and Lock Out/Tag Out requirements.
Able to trouble-shoot routine equipment problems and recognizes when supervision and maintenance should be notified which contributes to the plant goal of minimizing equipment down time per established OEE targets.
Maintains and insures converting and packaging area is always clean and orderly. Reports any property damages to Supervisor immediately.
Anticipates and plans for lot kitting, staging, converting, and packaging operations for the efficient transition to the next lot.
Follow written and verbal instructions; able to read, write legibly, understand and communicate in English.
Perform standard data entry into computer spreadsheets and labor reporting systems.
Transferring materials during the shift
Operating powered mobile equipment (ie: forklift)
This position will require:
Working on holidays as needed
Short notice shift coverage
Frequent physical demands, including:
Walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending over
Ability to accurately set up, operate and monitor automated manufacturing equipment.
Minimum of two years of experience manufacturing experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
Proven ability to work within a team settings and communicate effectively with coworkers.
