Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 8 years of experience in product design or UX.

• 5 years of experience managing interactive design or creative projects.

• 3 years of experience in people management.

• Experience designing voice user interfaces or multi-modal interfaces for a range of user contexts and device types.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 12 years of experience in product design or UX.

• 4 years of experience leading design projects.

• 3 years of experience working with executive leaders.

Google User Experience (UX) is made up of multi-disciplinary teams of UX Designers, Researchers, Writers, Content Strategists, Program Managers, and Engineers: we care deeply about the people who use our products. As a Conversation Designer, you'll create conversational, voice-forward experiences across multiple surfaces, such as smart speakers, smart displays, auto, and more. You'll work on multiple projects simultaneously, deal with cross-functional stakeholders, and provide feedback and direction to design work. Design work will include understanding product requirements and user context, and you'll create flows, prompts, and multi-modal interaction patterns.

In this role, you will lead a team of conversation designers to define how conversational AI experiences come together to deliver helpful experiences for advertisers and consumers. You will have a significant impact at Google by shaping the future of conversational AI, work on cutting-edge technology that is changing the way people interact with computers, and mentor and guide the team.

Google Ads is helping power the open internet with the best technology that connects and creates value for people, publishers, advertisers, and Google. We're made up of multiple teams, building Google's Advertising products including search, display, shopping, travel and video advertising, as well as analytics. Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $168,000-$252,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Manage, mentor, and guide career development for a team.

• Build positive relationships and operating rhythms with UX, Product, Engineering, PgM, and Business within the Ads ecosystem.

• Push creativity, challenge established thinking, and develop new approaches to complex conversational AI opportunities while ensuring solutions support a systematic, seamless experience.

• Convert the value of conversation design for our users, brand, and business to executive stakeholders.
