Description:This position performs project management tasks for several concurrent, multi-million-dollar domestic and international weapons development contracts on all F-35 variants. The position is aligned under the F-35 Development Weapons Program Management Office. Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and coordinates between contracts management, integration team, engineering projects, planning and scheduling, and customers, both internal and external. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages detail and summary schedules, prepares and briefs status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Performs deep dive analysis on projects status as needed, briefing executive level personnel. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, integrators and customers. This position works continuously with Business Management and Control Account Managers to identify, analyze, and rectify earned value (cost, schedule and risk) performance issues and metrics problems. This position includes the responsibility to ensure the correct scope and material are bid into proposals and ensure cost and schedule for existing contracts adhere to government-contracted timelines. This project manager will lead proposals to ensure new scope is baselined, scheduled, and will continuously monitor execution to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost reductions. This person will be able to communicate current status and issues to senior international and US government leaders.

This position requires infrequent U.S. and International travel.

This position requires an interim Secret Clearance to start.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience

  • Approximately 10 years or more of Program or Project Management Experience

Desired Skills:

  • Operational aircraft experience

  • Aircraft weapons integration experience

  • F-35 Program or similar fighter program experience

  • Flight test experience with fighter or bomber aircraft

  • Project engineering experience

  • Earned value management experience

  • Excellent communication skills

Qualifications How you will qualify…… You have completed your bachelor's degree and have 10 solid years of Program Management or equivalent experience. While not required, it would be a huge bonus if you had your PMP certification. But if you are willing to obtain it in the future, that works for us, too. DoD/DHS Acquisition PM level II or III would catch our attention as well. Your knowledge of program management methods and Earned Value Management are above average, and you are very savvy with contracts, fixed price, cost plus and time and materials. You are a negotiator at heart - tact and diplomacy, when interacting with internal/external customers and foreign personnel, come naturally to you. DHS or DoD (or similar) regulations, policies, process and acquisition lifecycle phases are areas you have working knowledge of. You have knack for working independently to build and lead an integrated product team. Creating the content and presenting on program management reviews is an area you excel in. MS Office, Outlook, and Project applications are tools you know all about.
