THE JOB:

Mandalay Bay Resort is a premier 2.1 million square foot resort located in the heart of Las Vegas. Renowned for hosting a variety of conventions, meetings, and banquets in our expansive Conference Center, Arena, Studio Rooms, and hotel area. We are seeking a dedicated Convention Setup Supervisor to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of events by supervising the setup and teardown processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event setup within a large venue, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our clients.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Lead a Team to Excellence: Supervise the setup and teardown of conventions, meetings, and banquets in various locations within the resort, ensuring high standards are met.

  • Client Relationship Management: Maintain strong rapport with clients and Convention Services Managers to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Strategic Planning: Attend pre-conference meetings to discuss upcoming functions and ensure seamless execution.

  • Inventory Control: Inventory equipment and supplies to maintain proper par stock levels, ensuring all events are well-equipped.

  • Policy Enforcement: Inform employees of management policies and ensure compliance to maintain a consistent and professional work environment.

WHAT YOU MUST HAVE:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent educational experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience in setup and teardown functions in an arena/venue or convention center environment as a Porter, Setup Supervisor, Convention Supervisor, or Banquet Supervisor.
