What you will do

Performs assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools. Troubleshoots and resolves basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems. Responds to basic warranty calls.

How you will do it

Loads system-level controller software.

Performs basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e. sensors, actuators, etc) and completes all required commissioning documentation.

Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.

Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.

Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.

Documents changes and provides information for as-built documentation.

Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.

Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

What we look for


Demonstrated technical aptitude.

Able to use hand and power tools (i.e. drills, saws, etc.).

Basic computer skills required.

Attention to detail.

Good communication and listening skills.

Depending on location, the mounting and termination of low voltage devices may have special licensing requirements.

Two years' experience in installing electronic and/or mechanical systems.

Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC systems.

VT Group is seeking a Security Systems ElectronicTechnician 2 in Honolulu, HI. Responsibilities Specific duties include: General technical knowledge to build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify developmental and electrical or electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems by performing the following duties: * Discusses standard layout and assembly procedures and problems with senior level technicians. * May draw sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units. * Review the system logs and error logs for any problem indications * Physical inspection of all access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection devices to insure full functionality and proper alignment * Test each access control, video surveillance and intrusion detection device installed to verify correct operations are recorded on the system log * Test each backup battery installed in each ACS/IDS sub-system enclosure * Recommend changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance to supervisor. * Sets up standard test apparatus and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model. * Analyzes and interprets test data. * Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance. * Utilizes technical reports and charts, graphs, and schematics for system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations. * Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions with supervisor. * Primary support for this requirement is based out of Hawaii however could include travel support to Pearl City, Joint Base Pearl Harbor (JBPH), Camp Smith, , Ford Island, Fort Shafter, Schofield Tripler Army Medical Center, Westloch, Maui, Saipan, Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific (NCTAMS PAC), Kaneohe Marine Corp Base (MCB HI), Japan, American Samoa, Pago Pago, and Guam. Must be able to travel from Hawaii to support other US Government sites listed. Any travel outside of Oahu HI will be reimbursable in accordance with Per Diem JTR rates. Receipts required to be reimbursed. Qualifications Education/Experience: * (3) years of maintenance experience with physical security access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection system hardware * (3) years of maintenance experience with one or more systems in each of the following categories: Access Control System (ACS), LENEL, AMAG, VINDICATOR, HIRSCH, and SOFTWARE HOUSE * (3) years of maintenance experience for Intrusion Detection System (IDS): BOSCH, VINDICATOR, DIGITIZE * (3) years of maintenance experience for Closed Circuit Television (CCTV): AMERICAN DYNAMICS, PELCO, AXIS, INTERLOGIX, BOSCH, AVIGILON, MILESTONE, TOSHIBA SURVEILLIX * Certifications in any of the above a plus. Clearance: * TS/SCI (TS with active SCI or SCI eligible PREFERRED). Active DOD Secret or Top Secret required at minimum. * Current Valid US passport at this time for international travel * All candidates must have active US Passport to support PACRIM travel. * Must be US Citizen at this time * Must be willing to be on site within 1 week of award or hiring. Estimated start date is 4/1/19 for Base year (10 months).
