What you will do

Under direct supervision and using established standards, responsible for hardware designs and software programming for HVAC control systems to meet the intent of the project requirements. Provides detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls field installation team and subcontractors. Responds to basic warranty calls.

How you will do it
1.Selects hardware designs from standard design library for flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.
2.Performs software programming using established standards as a basis of design.
3.Coordinates the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
4.Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinates factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule.
5.Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required. Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation.
6.Gathers field changes from the project team and creates as-built drawings and software. Prepares proper documentation and/or manuals for system operation.
7.Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
8.Assists in performing site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system.
9.Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
10. Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

What we look for

Preferred

Minimum of four years of experience with installing and/or commissioning controls systems including system-level controllers. Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

Demonstrated technical aptitude. Demonstrated advanced computer skills required, particularly computer-related drafting tools.

Ensures work performed is in compliance with state, local and federal legal requirements and operates on the job with the highest of ethics. Employs practices and develops processes to ensure cost effective engineering while providing consistent delivery and customer satisfaction. How you will do it * Manages and schedules the workload of the Security Systems Engineering Team. Prioritizes work, supervises and coordinates projects to insure progress and timely completion of the engineering deliverables. Provides timeframe estimates to project management for job cost evaluation. * Develops, implements, monitors and communicates the Security Systems Engineering team processes, strategies and standards. Provides engineering cost estimates during project development phases. * Seeks out new and creative applications and operational techniques. Implements improvements in the processes, facilities, tools and equipment to improve quality, reliability, productivity, and to provide leading edge technology. * Provides advanced technical support on application or implementation issues. * Leads team of Security Systems Engineers to select controllers and end devices that will meet the specification, and minimize the total cost of installation to ensure that the project cost comes in below estimate. * Utilizes financial, contract management and other management reports to evaluate team success. * Develops and maintains viable relationships with customers, consultants and architect engineers. Leverages these relationships as needed during project development and execution. * Maintains high level of engineering standards. Ensures maximum reuse of proven designs and programs. * Performs complex engineering and supports network commissioning as required on assigned projects. * Hires, retains, mentors, performance manages, and plans for career development of direct reports. Prepares and delivers clear performance expectations, performance reviews and development plans for direct reports. * Works with teams to ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables in order to maximize successful execution of projects. What we look for Required: * Prior experience in supervision of technical/engineering group. * Minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsibility in the construction or Electronic Security industry. * Strong understanding of cost management. * Good oral and written communication skills, especially in presentation of technical material. Preferred: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
