What you will do

Under direct supervision and using established standards, responsible for hardware designs and software programming for HVAC control systems to meet the intent of the project requirements. Provides detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, Johnson Controls field installation team and subcontractors. Responds to basic warranty calls.

How you will do it

Selects hardware designs from standard design library for flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.

Performs software programming using established standards as a basis of design. Coordinates the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.

Selects, orders, and tracks the delivery of materials for assigned projects. Coordinates factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule. Assists in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers as required.

Assists in validation of complete system functionality and troubleshoots problems with subcontractors and other trades to ensure proper operation. Gathers field changes from the project team and creates as-built drawings and software. Prepares proper documentation and/or manuals for system operation.

Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues. Assists in performing site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system.

Completes paperwork including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation. Adheres to safety standards. High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.

A Minimum of three (3) years of experience with installing and/or commissioning controls systems including system-level controllers & at least two (2) years' experience in HVAC controls hardware desired.

The System Engineering Manager is a technology leadership role. You will be responsible for leading a team of System Engineers who engineer operational efficiencies across all of Jack Henry's server endpoint devices and technology processes, leveraging automation technologies to introduce efficiencies at scale quickly. This team is responsible to managing Jack Henry's server endpoints security and configurations, collaborating with server administrators, engineers, security, compliance, governance, audit, support & operations, and business partners. This team manages infrastructure, software, and best practices for IT tools such as Chef, Artifactory, Windows Activation Services, InTune, Password Management, Group Policy, Software Deployments to name a few. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Must have a minimum of 7 years technical experience in an IT field. * Must have a minimum of 3 years in staff management. * Must have experience working with Windows Server (2012R2 or higher). * Must have experience with configuration management technologies (e.g. SCCM, JAMF, Chef). * Must have experience with at least one of the following: project management, implementation, or deployment experience. * Must be able to travel up to 25% for meetings, trainings, or educational conferences. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's Degree. * Experience with technical design and implementation of system deployment automation and configuration management tools. * Demonstrated experience and knowledge with one or more cloud platforms. This includes but not limited to: Azure, Amazon Wb Services, Google Cloud, or VMware. * Practical knowledge of DevOps principles and practices * CI/CD tooling experience a plus. * Experience and familiarity of Chef's solutions a plus. * Good understanding of Container technologies. * Excellent troubleshooting skills. * Must understand system support lifecycle from provisioning to decommissioning. * Strong deployment and operational experience with enterprise-level service applications. * Experience with modern Linux distributions (e.g. RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Ensures systems are monitored for optimum performance and availability. * Oversees the design, installation, configuration and maintenance of systems (LAN, WAN, Internet and/or data networks). * Oversees the implementation of system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. * Ensures that customer and internally-reported system problems are resolved. * Provides direction in the implementation and monitoring of corporate security policies. * Ensures system procedures, policies and events are documented and implemented. * Schedules 24x7 support on-call rotation. * Manages system backup and restore testing processes. * Manages periodic recovery testing of DR plans. * May also be responsible for planning and leading the maintenance and administration of all SQL, web and/or application servers. * Responsible for department budget. * Performs hiring, firing, objective setting, performance appraisals, coaching and pay reviews.
