Trane has a new exciting opportunity to join our organization as a Project Manager, Controls, you will manage all aspects of control projects, from beginning to end, with direct responsibility for project execution while leading a team, or teams, to accomplish specific objectives in a given time frame and with available resources. You will also be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of control projects and accountable for assigned project's scope of work, schedule, and budget. Responsibilities:

  • Plan and analyze assigned projects, establish schedules and project parameters and set procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex contracting applications.

  • Communicate with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, subcontractors, and field support staff.

  • Examine and review contracts and estimates by performing risk analysis and developing risk plans.

  • Establish an operations budget for assigned projects by revising the original estimate based on validated project scope.

  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion, and controlling expenses by monitoring assigned project budget.

  • Create and revise project schedules including: generating tasks, estimates, dependencies; milestones, CPM Analysis; and Histogram Analysis.

  • Prepare sub-contractor request for quotation's (RFQ) including: scope statements; plans and milestone dates; specs; bonding requirements; and billing schedule of values.

  • Receive and qualify subcontractor proposals; supervises work of project assigned staff, subcontractors and installers.

  • Generate technician work orders: reviews plan; review progress; and prioritizes tasks.

  • Meet with contractors and owners to discuss scope of project; budgets; performance; and close-out.

  • Support the sales function by assisting with quote preparation and proposals.

  • Responsible for project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management.

  • Responsible for change order management by recommending solutions, facilitating quotes and closing orders.

  • Maintain customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management (preferred) with a minimum of five (5) years of HVAC controls project management experience (Applied Projects) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Large scale Applied Project experience with a proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong experience in resource / manpower planning and team leadership of multiple technicians & engineers.

  • Must have strong financial and business acumen and a history of running projects on time and on budget.

  • Experience working directly with building owners is a plus.

  • Must be able to travel locally

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Operational Risk and Controls, you will be a key member of a newly created internal controls focused team within our Global Customer Service (GCX) group, and responsible for the following: Primary Job Responsibilities * Assist in the implementation of a new internal controls program for payments and risk operations * Document process controls, flowcharts, policies * Assist the business in developing process, policies and controls * Plan and perform internal control monitoring activities to ensure adherence to established procedures and controls * Assist with planning audit program for projects * Analyze data and reports to identify anomalies * Investigate and troubleshoot areas where issues are identified * Conduct ongoing formal testing of the design and operating effectiveness of critical operational processes * Assist with risk and process gap assessments * Identify process improvements and simplification of processes and systems * Assist with major global projects and/or process re-designs due to business model and process changes * Provide control-related support and training for the team to help mitigate operating risk through fostering an effective controls environment * Assist with implementing new processes and controls in response to changes in the business environment, such as; new product introduction, changes in payment standards, and internal process changes Preferred Skills / Experience * Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience * 2-3+ years of audit (internal or external), controls, compliance, and/or risk operations experience, or relevant work experience, preferably within the e-commerce or financial services industry * Experience thinking through existing processes and improvement solutions * Ability to take initiative to achieve results * Strong communication skills to educate/raise awareness of foundational elements/methodologies needed to support an internal control framework * Experience designing, implementing, and testing controls * Experience identifying risk areas and identifying solutions to address * Experience assessing, monitoring and remediating deficient controls * Experience with investigations and reporting findings * Proficient at navigating through ambiguity along with handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced changing environment We love creating opportunities for others by connecting people from widely diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and geographies.
