The Opportunity ...

As our Controls Service Technician, you will report to the Service & Spare Parts Manager. On a given day, you may:

• Recognize and take corrective actions to unsafe work conditions or practices.

• Use CAD, database systems and available resources to make layouts, evaluate control systems, analyze, and generate new designs.

• Test and evaluate prototypes and products

• Perform service on equipment manufactured, sold and/or leased by JBT

• Conduct final inspection, installation, and commissioning of new and/or rebuilt JBT equipment

• Answer inquiries concerning equipment and forward to the appropriate departments in JBT

• Travel to customer sites to perform controls start-up and troubleshooting of food processing equipment and operator training

• Work on industrial control systems and related test equipment including PLC's, PC's, loop controllers, control valves, level probes, flow meters, RTD's and other miscellaneous hardware

• Write PLC programs to control various equipment

• Create functional OIT screens for operator interaction

• Assist with development of quotes

Requirements for the role

• A mechanical background with at least 2 years of field experience and customer interaction

• Experience in machine assembly, light fabrication, welding, and machine tool operation

• Electrical wiring, schematic reading, and troubleshooting experience

• A basic PLC understanding

• Field Service Retort controls and startup

• Be able to understand drawings, blueprints, and mechanical assemblies

• Experience working with contractors on all phases of project installation and startup.

• You have a High School Diploma or GED.

• You have a valid driver's license

Travel & Location

• You will be fully remote, and we ask that you travel approximately 80% of the time.

The estimated annual salary/hourly range for this role is $31.00-$45.00. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
