Controls Research Engineer

  • Develop control systems for gasoline and hybrid powertrains and sub-systems, including Air, Fuel, Spark, EGR and aftertreatment. Employ advanced control methods (examples: Model Predictive Control, Adaptive Control, Optimal Control) and signal processing techniques for new powertrain technologies and to improve existing control system performance and robustness. Develop models and simulations to support system characterization, control design, implementation and validation. Develop engine diagnostics for OBD regulation. Collect and analyze experimental engine and vehicle data. Design experiments to support validation of engine control systems. Provide input for engine and vehicle instrumentation. Implement algorithms into embedded controller code C language. Leverage software version control in clearcase, Git Hub

Job description: Controls Research Engineer

  • Develop control systems for gasoline and hybrid powertrains and sub-systems, including Air, Fuel, Spark, EGR and aftertreatment. Develop IC engine diagnostics for OBD regulation. Implement algorithms into embedded controller code C language.
  • Develop control systems for gasoline and hybrid powertrains and sub-systems.

  • Air, Fuel, Spark, EGR, Torque delivery features and systems

  • Employ conventional and advanced control system methods

  • Model Predictive Control, Adaptive Control, Optimal Control) and signal processing techniques for new powertrain technologies and to improve existing control system performance and robustness.

  • Develop models and simulations to support system characterization, controls system design and validation.

  • Develop engine diagnostics for OBD regulation

  • Collect and analyze experimental engine and vehicle data including specifying instrumentation and designing experiments to characterize system and validate control robustness

  • Implement control system in rapid prototype system controllers including autocoding.

  • Implement algorithms into embedded controller code C language ,and maintain version control in Clearcase, Github
