Job Summary
Our On-Site Group continues to expand and is looking for a Controls Engineer to combine engineering, manufacturing, systems and programming skills to support manufacturing: operational reliability, efficiency, process improvement, safety, and human error reduction at one of the largest chemical plants in New Jersey. Our On-Site Group leverages embedded, subject matter experts who work in tandem with client team members while working onsite and serving (in) the best interests of our client. This model provides our clients with an on-site industry-expert who will create synergies with your key stakeholders while partnering with internal resources to move the project forward.
What You'll Do:
Work closely with the Operations team and Chemical Process Designers to develop requirements for PLC, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and sequence code programs.
Lead the delivery of PLC programming and SIS programming for ongoing projects and operational activities
Lead PLC and SIS troubleshooting and root cause identification for process issues
Participate in Unit Team meetings and HAZOP reviews to improve the health, safety, environmental, customer, financial, production, or utilization of the manufacturing units
Act as an automation subject matter expert in the development and implementation of Manufacturing projects ensuring that they are employing the most fitting automation solutions
Your Background Should Include:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Experience Programming PLC's (Modicon and/or Unity a plus.
Experience Programming SIS (Triconex Tristation a plus).
Experience Programming DCS (Foxboro a plus)
