A Controls Engineer in Shelbyville, Ky is available courtesy of Modis Engineering on a direct hire basis. To be considered for this position you will be responsible for the electrical design, development, and improvements of new or existing products.

Controls Enginer job responsibilities include;

Originates and develops designs for product relating to defined project specifications.

Create schematics and machine software as required.

Create Bill of Materials of product design.

Works with customers to troubleshoot field service issues.

Understands lean manufacturing concepts and initiates process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Perform other duties as assigned

Controls Engineer Requirements:

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a minimum of 3 years experience in electrical design and PLC programming

Skills:
Must be familiar with programming software, Microsoft Office, and AutoCAD. Also useful would be servo & robotics experience.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO * Maintains Safety as the number one priority in conducting daily responsibilities in design and implementation of solutions. * Leads continuous improvement projects through automated process controls to increase operational efficiency (safety, quality improvement, waste reduction, productivity improvement, etc.). * Engages manufacturing, quality, and technical personnel in implementing process changes to accomplish continuous improvement objectives * Leads PLC programming of machines collaboratively with manufacturing department and maintenance personnel. * Design and integrate machine vision guidance and inspection systems. * Implementation of collaborative robotics to provide higher process control/increased efficiency. * Conducts studies and designs of experiment for manufacturing processes throughout the plant. Participates in determining future courses of action as a result of these studies. * Reviews data from technical for product issues and develops programming solutions to eliminate risk. * Assists in troubleshooting production problems through PLC feedback to determine root cause and develops corrective actions.
