Be part of a team that designs, tests, and commissions industrial electrical and process control systems including hardware and software.Provide electrical checkout of systems in-house and at customer sites.
Generate detailed process Functional Descriptions (FDs) to ensure the programming will meet stated requirements.
Design software applications by applying knowledge of computer programs, systems, and networks, and/or by supervising and coordinating the design done by subcontractors.
Test software applications by performing simulation testing of software on the hardware platforms or emulators.

Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering preferred, AS degree in engineering considered Must have at least 3 years experience in a process industry like: food/bev, chemical, etc.
At least 2 years of experience related to process control systems design and leadership experience within a similar industry Experience building new control systems Experience with PLC and SCADA technology Experience with SQL or other databases Must be able to travel as assignments require (approximately 25%), mainly in North America, project based travel so usually planned in advance Team player who is focused on both personal performance and Company success Ability to expand job responsibilities and collaborate with others to generate ideas and improve processes Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Summary: Under general supervision, responsible for designing new products and processes and improving and maintaining existing products. Responsible for hardware and software design activities for building automation systems. Applies engineering principles and practices for work on assigned projects. Designs cost effective control solutions to meet project requirements. Works directly on the project team to assist the Project Manager with project commissioning. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 3-4 years of experience; or Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in electrical engineering and a certificate in HVAC or AAS and BAS in electrical engineering and 5-6 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned. * Responsible for design and programming activities utilizing direct digital controls, electronic and pneumatic comfort control and automation systems. * Responsible for the sequence of operations which meet the project requirements. * Applies advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices. * Validates the engineered bill of material costs. * Responsible for vendor purchase orders and orders Trane material under Project Manager's direction. * Generates Operation & Maintenance Manuals. * Responsible for reviewing contract documents and conducting job surveys. * Responsible for creating installation drawings, submittal drawings, as-built drawings and final validation of system operation. * Assists in the preparation of cost estimates for projects. * Provides engineering direction and support to other team members. * Reviews equipment submittals for incorporation into design. * Negotiates and orders required Trane material and outside purchases. * Develops control programming and graphics for control systems. * Assists BAS Technicians as required with programming, electrical terminations, commissioning, graphic development, test and startup. * Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communication with staff, as needed, providing customer feedback. * Some travel with occasional overnight stays. (insert %) * Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and engineering drawing tools. Some computer programming experience is required. Familiarity with the concepts of new construction, renovation/retrofit; performance contracting, and service project management.
