Based out of Frederick, we are a world leader in the equipment industry. Due to growth we have an immediate need for a Controls Engineer. Our goal is to bring in an experience engineer, train them in our industry and then start them on a promotion track that leads to a manager position. We are willing to assist with relocation if necessary.
What You Will Be Doing

Your primary responsibilities will include the design, programming, and commissioning of industry-leading manufacturing equipment:

PLC and HMI programming
Electrical controls design and troubleshooting
AC drive programming
Servo motion control
Up to 30% travel required
What You Need for this Position

BSEE, BSME, or equivalent degree
3 to 5 years related experience
Recent Experience with PLC programming
Experience with HMI programming
Knowledge of C/C++
Experience with AutoCAD
Experience with Variable Frequency Drives
Motion control programming experience
Strong mechanical aptitude
Excellent problem solving skills

Scope: * Responsible for execution and support of the automation validation of existing and new PLC/DCS/BMS automation systems and applications throughout the manufacturing campus. The position will also be responsible for the validation of computerized systems, including operator interfaces, server and workstation operating systems, and application programming. * The position will collaborate with manufacturing, quality and facilities groups to assist with commissioning and maintaining licensure of the manufacturing facilities. Develop and implement projects for improving the compliance and efficiency of automation validation documentation, as well as adding principal content Knowledge: * The position will develop and execute automation validation projects which will require a basic understanding of the following technical areas; PLC/DCS/BMS systems with emphasis on Rockwell, GE, Emerson, and Siemens systems, Control Network including Device Net, ControlNet, Ethernet IP, and Foundation Fieldbus, software backup and control program. * In addition, the candidate must possess the following validation capabilities; converting sequences of operations into Detailed Design Specifications, authoring qualification protocols from existing specifications, support regulatory and internal audits by providing and representing validation documents, maintain and manage traceability matrices, perform periodic review tasks with direction, and support VSCR execution by timely completion of tasks. * The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in computer skills and MS Office applications.
