We are hiring a Controls Engineer to support a start-up within the baggage handling industry. This opportunity allows you to become part of a small but dynamic team in the early start-up phase within the automation field. Candidates must be able to travel 50% of the time.

Job Responsibilities

• Candidates must have the ability to travel 50% of the time.

• Design and develop control systems for new and existing equipment.

• Program PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces).

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems and equipment.

• Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate control systems.

• Conduct testing and validation of control systems to ensure performance and reliability.

• Develop and maintain documentation for control systems, including schematics, diagrams, and manuals.

• Provide technical support and training to maintenance and production teams.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

• 1-2 years of controls engineering experience with basic programming and wiring in the field

• Experience in designing and programming PLCs and HMIs using Allen Bradley

• Know how to read, interpret and explain Electrical drawings to other team members and onsite staff

• AutoCAD, control panel schematics and components selection is a plus

• Working in material handling equipment industry or with system integrator

Work Environment

You will be working remotely out of home office but traveling to different cities in the US and Mexico. Preferred location is in the Midwest region on Eastern Time Zone. Standard hours are M-F 8 AM to 4/5 PM, with flexibility required when traveling. Per diem $60/per day when traveling, other expenses reimbursed and paid for.
