Controls Designer

Description:

We are seeking an individual who will be designing and integrating industrial automation solutions for industry.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Project Engineer to design custom control solutions for industrial machinery and process equipment.

• Develop circuit diagrams using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical

• Select hardware and create BOM (bill of materials)

• Design panel layout of hardware components

• Provide technical support to manufacturing

• System test prior to shipment

• Develop and improve upon engineering standards

• Work independently and in project groups

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Recent Graduates or 1 year of work experience designing industrial automation control systems

• Proficient with AutoCAD or AutoCAD electrical a plus

• Demonstrate ability to understand industrial control circuits

• Proficient with designing controls to UL 508A, CUL, CSA, and CE a plus

• Working knowledge of Rockwell hardware parts including PLC, HMI, industrial components, and VFD's

• Proficient with Variable Frequency Drive Systems and/or motor control applications

• Familiar with machine control design

• Written and oral communication skills

Education:

• 2-year technical degree in electrical design or automation a plus
