Controlling Representative II- Decatur, IL

This is a full-time Non-Exempt position

Position Summary

The NA Contract Settlement Center of Excellence has an opportunity for the right candidate to become part of a team that offers a variety of responsibilities and challenges. This team is responsible for maintaining Barge accounts for multiple ADM locations and outside trade customers. This includes all transactional responsibilities related to contracting, payment, and invoicing of corn, soybeans, wheat and rice, along with all freight and demurrage transactions for multiple divisions. A strong candidate will be a team player, enjoys problem solving and works well with internal and external customers.

Job Requirements

  • Strong analytical abilities, initiative, and problem solving skills are necessary to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.

  • A proven track record of being dependable, reliable, meeting strict deadlines, and a strong desire to help others including internal and external clients

  • Good organizational skills with the ability to function in a team environment

  • Knowledge of ADM Accounting Systems including Agris, J.D. Edwards, CICS, A/P, and A/R is preferred

  • Experience with accessing documents using Infopac and Mobius Document Direct

  • Basic understanding of NGFA Trade Rules

  • An Associate's degree in Accounting or Business is preferred

  • Minimum of three years of ADM experience or equivalent is preferred

  • Working Knowledge of Agris, CICS, J.D. Edwards and MS Office system is preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of grain, freight and demurrage settlement practices and procedures is preferred, but not required

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain current and accurate accounts for an assigned group of vendors and customers

  • Process barge grain settlements and invoices

  • Process contract changes, washes and cancellations

  • Process debit/credit memos

  • Ability to learn Agris Data entry and inquiry

  • Ability to learn IBM (CICS); Data entry and inquiry using APGO

  • Ability to learn J.D. Edwards with ability to inquire and processes AR reports

  • Work closely with all Settlement group members to ensure excellent customer service

  • Assist all customers, merchandisers and other personnel as needed

  • Process and pay freight, demurrage and broker bills

  • Cross train on other Settlement responsibilities

Position Summary: The Decatur Controlling team is seeking a Continuous Improvements Analyst for a role in the Decatur office. The successful candidate for this position will play a vital role in providing continuous improvements support for process changes initiatives within the Decatur Controlling group, including optimization of existing processes, and ensure standardized, consistent, compliant, effective and efficient processes. Job Requirements: * Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Continuous Improvements and/or outside experience * Strong and advanced skills in Microsoft Office Excel, Power Point, and Visio. * Six Sigma Certified Green Belt or above is preferred. * Knowledge of principles, practices, techniques and methodologies associated with lean management models. * Strong analytical abilities, initiative, and problem solving skills. * Ability to fully document an end-to-end process (process flow mapping), identify waste and areas of improvement, and execute/implement changes in order to standardize, simplify, and make the process more efficient. * Skilled in active learning by understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. * Ability to develop performance metrics / KPIs and dashboards. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public (finance, commercial and operations management) * Strong planning and organizational skills. * Effective oral and written communication skills. * Experience in project management activities and leading complex projects is preferred. * Commitment to be a positive & professional team member as well as the ability to function independently Job Responsibilities: * Partner with finance colleagues to understand current state finance processes, identify inefficiencies, implement feasible solutions, and help define future state processes and management metrics. * Oversee and develop plans for full implementation of process improvement initiatives including project goals, scope, deliverables, resources, budget and timing, and status report. * Drafts a variety of communication materials that promote the successes and lessons learned of the process improvement initiatives. * Lead efforts to transfer knowledge across the Center of Excellence (COE) teams with respect to accounting processes to further drive standardization and use of best practice.
