PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
Organizationally located within Global Controlling, the CEO Controlling team supports the CEO of SAP and its business unit heads in all controlling-relevant processes (budgeting, forecasting and month-end/quarter-end/year-end closing). In addition, it offers its enhanced business expertise in portfolio evaluations, project controlling and other ad-hoc reports making "the difference" in decision-making processes. By this, its team members are creating impact on their business partners' operations, their mid- and long-term strategic direction.
CEO Marketing Controlling ensures a superior business partnering for all Central- and Regional Marketing units as well as Cloud Marketing.
Beyond business unit controlling's classic business partner role, it actively engages in steering SAP's strive for operational excellence together with the Marketing community. Hereby, a high quality standard in analysis, reporting and provisioning of decision-making proposals is essential to succeed.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Understand key metrics of SAP's business, strategy and operations; its services, solutions and organization especially in the Board Area Office of the CEO.
Implementing and leading processes and standards in the financial area globally and ensure regional compliance.
Act as financial project lead for several financial optimization projects.
Work closely and in an effective collaboration with related business units as a "Trusted Business Advisor" by understanding the business needs, behavior and doing and supporting them in their controlling requirements.
Conceptual enhancement of current cost allocation models and processes.
Coordination of Budget and Forecast preparations, analyze planning accuracy and consistency.
Monitor significant KPIs and financials on an on-going basis.
Conduct and monitor financial planning activities.
Deliver key messages from in-depth analysis and monitoring of performance drivers;
recommend action items to management in reports.
Actively engage with all relevant stakeholders
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
University degree, MBA or similar with emphasis in Finance / Controlling
High degree of "get it done" mentality and goal orientation
Ideally, candidate possesses multiple years of experience in Finance/Controlling with focus on Sales & Marketing
Heavy on accounting (deferrals and prepaid)
Excellent analytical skills combined with a sound of knowledge of a variety of controlling instruments and a solid basis in cost accounting
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills also in an international environment
Ability to present complex business models and analysis to senior management, as well as prepare these presentations for top management meetings
Outstanding problem solving skills
Very proactive, independent as well as professional and accomplished working style
Excellent skills in SAP BW and other common analytics applications, as well as MS Office
other common analytics applications, as well as MS Office
Fluent in English, additional language is a plus
