A mid-size stable Atlanta based beverage distribution company has an opening for a Controllerwith a 4 year business college degree. Position will initially be an Assistant Controller, but will be working alongside current controller. Who will be stepping down in 12 months. After that, then they will take over the Controller position if all goes according to plan and they meet job expectations.

Job Requirements

  • 5 years experience in an upper managerial accounting position is required.

  • The position will be responsible for supervising a staff of7 - 8 people.

  • Candidate should be very computer literatewith advanced skills inMicrosoft Office products. Specifically Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

  • Must possessthe ability to take charge, lead your team andbe a problem solver including but not limited to enforcement of company policies and procedures with rest of the accounting department.

  • Candidate, without effort, must be capable of closing multi-companybooks and producing financial statements. Including but not limited toGeneral Ledger, Bank reconciliations, Balance Sheet reconciliations and other Financial Reporting needs dictated by Owners.

  • Must be able to meet all goals on a timely basis in accordance with standards established by previous Controller.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written skills while reportingdirectly to Owners,withconstant interaction withdepartmental Managers and Owners in regards to monthly financial information or other related topics.

  • This a very hands on position, so right candidate should be willing work any accounting department to ensure deadlines are met and work gets done.

This individual will report to the CAO and work directly with leaders of all functional departments to assist in reporting and analyzing financial and operational results. This position includes responsibility for all daily activities, and the development of, a team of accounting employees.</p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><p>Lead a departmental close schedule that meets the needs of both the internal departments (Finance, Revenue and Collections, Financial Reporting and Tax) as well as quarterly and annual external reporting requirements. Demonstrate flexibility in meeting both internal and external reporting needs. Partner with CAO to drive efficiencies in the monthly and quarter-end close process. Achieve &quot;first cut&quot; financial statements in 10 business days.</p><p>Integrate the accounting function of acquired companies into the Aveanna systems and processes and take responsibility for the accurate accounting of acquired companies prior to integration.</p><p>Develop accounting team culture and integrate accounting team with other department counterparts.</p><p>Work closely with Internal Audit to Implement and continue the execution of key controls within areas of responsibility.</p><p>Develop and lead a structured process for documenting and reconciling all significant balance sheet accounts in line with Aveanna's reconciliation policy. Reconciliations should allow a third party to gain an understanding of the nature of the items, by vendor or material cost type, in each balance sheet account on a quarterly basis, at a minimum.</p><p>Reconciliations should not be based on past expense run rates for material balance sheet accounts. Reconciliations should be well documented, evidence review and approval, and qualify as an effective key control under SOX.</p><p>Deliver effective customer service to the Finance, Revenue and Collections, Financial Reporting, and Tax teams to include responsiveness to team member questions, delivery of financial close on time and in requested formats and classifications, within overarching GAAP requirements.</p><p>Grow team member knowledge bases via participation in the financial review scrub process and partnering with these teams. Build and lead a mindset of collaboration and service within corporate accounting toward FP&amp;A and operations.</p><p>Deliver timely, accurate and complete schedules to the external auditors on agreed-upon dates in order to support successful quarterly reviews and the annual audit. Partner with SEC reporting team to deliver completion of audits.</p><p>Budget Responsibilities:</p><p>Responsibility for ensuring accounting department vendors and/or staff under Controller responsibility and supervision remain within approved budgets. Seek out relevant FP&amp;A team members responsible for monitoring the accounting budget and meet with such monthly to understand the accounting budget at a detailed level in 2022.
